Exhibiting your
pictures
Members have the right to submit for exhibition
works of art that are original and have not previously been exhibited
with the Eynsham Arts Group. (At the Summer Exhibition and Sale
previously exhibited work can be shown.)
Work should be handed in between 10.30 and 12.30
on handing in days and collected between 3.30 and 4.00 on the last day
of the exhibition.
Please remember that pictures need to be labelled
with:
Artists name
Title of the picture
Medium
Price
The label should stick out of the right hand side
of the picture.
All pictures submitted for hanging must have
eyelets and string on the backs so they can be displayed on the hanging
rods.
Media that needs to be covered with glass should
be properly framed with adequate hangings. (Clip frames are not
accepted)
As
of 1st
February 2007 hanging fees will be £1 per picture for all
exhibitions, with the
exception of the Spring exhibition which will be charged at
£2 per picture.
The increase in hanging fee is to help cover the cost of extra
promotional
spending during that exhibition. (Artsweeks/Preview evenings etc)
Each member can submit up to three pictures.
As long as
there is enough space all pictures submitted will be hung.
The Group takes 10% commission on any work sold at
the exhibition.
Mounted pictures or prints can
go in the cradle at
the artists own risk. They should be displayed individually and
adequately protected.Please note
all work MUST be mounted. There is no fee charged for displaying
paintings
in the cradle. Members are limited to four pictures each in the cradle. In
the event that the cradles become overcrowded, the hanging committee
reserve
the right to further limit the number each member may display.
Cards need to be adequately
protected and clearly priced. There is no limit on the number of cards
members may submit
for exhibition but should the card racks become full the hanging
committee will
try to ensure all members get a fair share of the space
available. Any
cards that we don’t have room for will be stored in the cupboard
as carefully as possible.
The
same 10% commission is taken by the Arts Group on all cards sold.
Please
note,
all artworks are displayed at the artists own risk and the Arts Group
recommend
artists arrange there own adequate insurance cover.
Exhibitors are expected to sit for at least one
session during exhibitions. Durring the Summer Exhibition we really
need exhibitors to sit for at least two sessions in order to get all of
the times covered. (We are very grateful to members who volunteer to
sit, often for several sessions, even when they are not exhibiting.)
